YMI is a center for individual transformation through physical and mental health. Our stress prevention program for businesses was designed by Melissa Garland and Jace Barrett and has been vetted by our Board of Advisor members and tested and proven at our Park City, Utah business location.

Melissa Garland (BA, MBA)
Melissa’s business career includes enterprise B2C and B2B marketing with Samsung and Adobe as well as experience leading mid-sized and startup tech companies. Midway through her career, Melissa began a personal journey studying happiness: how to find it and how to keep it. In 2013, she purchased a yoga fitness business through which she began to develop the YMI model by combining physical movement, meditation, and mindfulness training to significantly reduce stress and improve individual happiness.
In 2022, Melissa collaborated with Jace Barrett to develop the full YMI Stress Prevention Program. The program is available to businesses on-site and individuals at the YMI Park City, Utah location.

Ginger Bower
Ginger Bower currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer for SafeLane Health. Ginger moved to Utah to assume the role as Vice President of Marketing/Voice of Customer at Overstock.com where she was obsessed with delivering a delightful customer-centric experience.
Having worked in instrumental roles at both Fortune 500 companies & start-up businesses she continues to combine her passion for delivering smart solutions & and being a vociferous advocate for stellar customer experiences.
Dr. Paula Williams
Dr. Williams completed her B.S. in Genetics and Psychology at the University of Illinois, an M.S. in Clinical Psychology at Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Utah. Following internship/postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University Medical Center and faculty positions at Loyola University Chicago and Washington State University, she returned to the University of Utah where she is a Professor in the Department of Psychology. Her research focuses on individual differences in stress risk and resilience. She has authored over 90 journal articles and book chapters, received funding from the Department of Defense, and has been an Associate Editor at the Journal of Behavioral Medicine and the Journal of Research in Personality.
